Obviously, these days everyone is on Facebook and no one reads vanity blogs anymore. I still have to keep my domain names though, so I may as well have something here.
So in the last two years, what happened?
I started jogging and lost forty pounds.
I started working at Edwards and Kautz, which was a great move for me. It means longer hours and I almost completely stopped exercising.
I gained thirty pounds.
We bought Shannon a Honda Element, which is awesome. We bought a boat, which is terrible. Anyone interested in buying a barely functional boat, please give me a call. I played Warcraft obsessively for about a year, and then lost all interest in it. I also went to some hockey games and a baseball game. I went to the lake several times. Much beer was consumed.
I tried several cases, including a murder case, which hung up a few days ago.

You’re aware that this is our kitchen, right? What makes you think you can take a picture of it?

If, like me, you spend more than 12 hours a day on the internet, you may want Firefox to stay open even when you click the close button on your last open tab (this was the default behavior before version 3.5). To make it do this, type about:config in the address bar and set browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab to false.

Texas appears to have executed an innocent man. I realize that I’m a hippy-dippy criminal defense lawyer, but the thought of watching your children be burned alive and then being erroneously executed for it should keep us all awake at night.

From Farrell v. Burke, 449 F.3d 470:
MR. NATHANSON: Are you saying, for example, that that condition of parole would prohibit Mr. Farrell from possessing, say, Playboy magazine?
P.O. BURKE: Yes.
MR. NATHANSON: Are you saying that that condition of parole would prohibit Mr. Farrell from possessing a photograph of Michelangelo['s] David?
P.O. BURKE: What is that?
MR. NATHANSON: Are you familiar with that sculpture?
P.O. BURKE: No.
MR. NATHANSON: If I tell you it’s a large sculpture of a nude youth with his genitals exposed and visible, does that help to refresh your memory of what that is?
P.O. BURKE: If he possessed that, yes, he would be locked up for that.
That made my day.

Fewer blossoms than last year, but I’m happy we have one tree that survived the ice storm.

Years ago, Shannon got this painting on clearance at Office Depot:
It’s been hanging on our wall for about 7 years now, and it’s one of my favorite artworks. I think it’s a cat and mouse (see the mouse’s tail and the cat’s whiskers? The mouse is blue, and the cat is yellow).
Today I learned that it is a piece of abstract art by Wassily Kandinsky named “Giallo, Rosso, Blu.” I also learned that we’ve had it hanging upside down the entire time.

It’s been a month and a half, so I figured a new blog post was about due.
Hope you enjoyed it.

Blues won, I got on a jumbotron for the first time, and we got free hats.
Awesome.
